Waters pouring out of Faqir Jo Goth breach, which posed a threat to Thatta town, has now been diverted towards Baghar Mori and KB feeder, minimising the threat.
The breach in Molchand-Surjani embankment, at Kot Aalimo, has widened to over 500 feet and seven million cusecs of water is flowing towards the Arabian Sea.
The district chief of PPP, Arbab Wazir Ahmed Memon, told Dawn that water passing through its natural route would probably pass through Daro town and the sub-divisional headquarters of Sujawal.
Water from a breach in MS bund inundated the Thatta-Sujawal road near Saeedpur village and was heading towards Sujawal, a town of 60,000.
People were trying to stop the flood from invading the town by erecting a mud bund. Another breach occurred in KB Feeder at 103-Mori on Saturday evening, sending torrents towards an adjoining thickly populated area.
