The area is under the supervision of Pakistan army's unit 15 SP which is deployed at the TP link canal rest house. According to the army control headquarter, out of about 25000 households of dera din pannah, nearly 18000 were catered to last week, while the army is in the process of assisting the people to move back to heir houses from relief camps. A group of young students and professionals (from LUMS as well) went to a small remote village called 'Basti chah mula wali' (coordinates for google maps 30.595118, 70.907113) and provided 80 families with tents, food supplies and water for 2 weeks. The area is properly identified and the Chief Minister also visited the 'Abbas wala band' which was the first bank in the area to have collapsed by the Indus river. But an incident is worth mentioning here that there was a riot in dera din pannah town on the main road (GT road) due to unorganized relief goods provision on the 3rd sept (friday), where a hostile mob engaged in a fight with the authorities (army and police). Due to which there was a perception of insecurity among the people and the donor agencies for the weekend. But according to the latest updates that perception has been dispelled and the situation is peaceful now.
