Incident Report Description

In Balochistan, an estimated 30,000 people
have been made homeless as a result of the flash floods that hit Tambo Tehsil including 5,449 children. People are currently using stagnant open water sources for bathing, drinking, cooking, and washing purposes, posing serious risks to their health. In the affected UCs of Nasirabad, schools made of mud have been completely destroyed, while schools made of cement and red bricks have been partially damaged. Rehabilitation is expected to take three to four months, and there are currently no alternatives for the continuation of school and classes.

Relief interventions should include the provision of food, clean drinking water, emergency shelter, sanitation, non-food items including hygiene supplies, and medical services. Water and sanitation (WASH) interventions will be a priority
to ensure children’s’ wellbeing. Furthermore,
these immediate health needs should include the provision of primary health services, emergency medicine and supplies, obstetric care for pregnant women, and rehabilitation of health facilities.
